Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Ltd is proud to announce that Shawn Smith is the new owner of Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky, following the announcement in April, that Chairman Euan Shand retired.
Marking a new era for the Scottish specialist spirits purveyor, Shawn brings a wealth of experience in technology finance and whisky and will continue the mantel as a family-owned business where Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky has amassed an impressive portfolio of vintage and rare scotch whisky casks.
As a global enterprise, with an international presence in more than 60 countries, Shawn will focus on growth opportunities for the company as it moves into a new chapter of development, whilst remaining true to the core values of the business in crafting premium whiskies.

Euan Shand, grew up in the whisky business. His father, the late Albert Shand, was a former manager of the Glendronach Distillery, and Euan grew up in a house on the distillery grounds. Following in the family footsteps, Euan joined the industry as a cooper and warehouseman at Glendronach Distillery. Glendronach was acquired by Wm Teacher and Sons Ltd in 1957. He spent 6 years working his way through most areas of the business before moving to their headquarters in St Enoch Square in Glasgow to train in export finance and international trade.
In 1990, in keeping with his continued interest in the whisky industry, Euan founded the Bennachie Scotch Whisky Co, where he pioneered the interest in vatted/blended malts.
Euan acquired Duncan Taylor Scotch Whisky Limited in 2001.
