Rare Auld Single Malt Scotch Whisky

Distilled at
BRORA DISTILLERY

HIGHLAND

Brora distillery was established in 1819 outside the small Sutherland town of the same name. The distillery was originally known as the Clynelish distillery before the new Clynelish distillery was built in 1968, hence why the two distilleries are often confused with each other. The two distilleries were run side by side until Brora was closed in 1983. From the early 1970’s Brora started using a more heavily peated malt this sets its whisky apart from the more lightly peated Clynelish. Brora distillery is one that is sadly missed.

Tasting Notes
Bottling: Duncan Taylor Brora 1981 - 23yo Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Duncan Taylor Single Malt Scotch
Cask No: 1426
Colour: Light straw
Nose: Creamy, sweet smoke. Rich fruit - blackberries and peaches.
Flavour: More rich fruits, malty with more than a suggestion of peat.
Finish: Soft but long with saltiness that lingers
Comments:  A Brora with a little peat but doesn't rely on it. A cracker.
