North Port distillery derived its
name from its positioning at the north gate of the once walled city
of Brechin. The distillery was built in 1820 by the Townhead Distillery
Company and operated until it was closed like so many distilleries
in 1983.
The distillery was demolished and a supermarket now stands on the site.
